  6. Keep my contact information up-to-date with Keystone.
It's important that we are able to reach you - once you get your local numbers for your mobile, home phone, and email address, please call the office.

  7. Maintain my smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Instructions for operating carbon monoxide detectors are available here - please be sure to download them and maintain the detector accordingly.

  8. Put out my garbage.
Some Keystone apartment buildings feature garbage rooms or dumpsters for disposing of garbage on an as needed basis. E-mail tenantcare@keyprop.com to find out where to put garbage in your building. Garbage will be picked up from all Keystone tenants living east of University Avenue on Tuesday mornings, so be sure to put your garbage on the curb on Monday nights after 6:00 p.m. Remember if there is a long weekend then garbage day moves ahead to Wednesday morning pickup. Garbage is to be kept in your unit until garbage day.

Vacation To Do's:

Away for an extended time or away at the beginning of your lease?

  1. Notify Keystone that I will be away and leave my emergency contact number.

  2. Ensure someone is watching my unit.
You are responsible for the unit throughout the term of your lease, whether living in the unit or not. If you are away during the summer or winter break, ensure someone visits your unit a few times a week.

Keystone provides a fee service for monitoring units. Call us to enquire about pricing.

  3. Before I leave, pay my rent for the summer months or for the time period I am away.

Renewal To Do's:

Renewing your lease with Keystone for another year?  We hope you do!

Let us know early whether you will be renewing your lease or moving-out by calling the office. If your lease expires in April, let us know in December. If your lease expires in August, let us know in April.

Move-Out To Do's:

Please don't leave us…but if you must…

We need to do a final move-out inspection of your unit with you present. Let us know a week in advance of when you plan to move out so that we can book this appointment with you.

  2. Clean your unit.
All units with carpet(s) must be steam-cleaned as per your lease. You can call Keystone to arrange for cleaning. It's your responsibility to leave your unit in showroom condition.
